For the Kids

"...I'm gonna stop lookin' back and start movin' on
And learn how to face my fears
Love with all my heart, make my mark
I wanna leave something here

Go out on a ledge, without any net
That's what I'm gonna be about
Yeah, I wanna be runnin'
When the sand runs out..."
from When The Sand Runs Out by Rascal Flats

The founders of America's Attik have been focused on helping children for  the past 17 years, beginning in a small office out of the home. Current efforts to expand America's Attik result from the following drivers:

▫ Raising money for Camp Esperanza, a camp for children with cancer
▫ Developing a circle of sponsors who believe in children's potential, even those children without the economic means to fulfill their dreams
▫ Space requirements to handle storage and inventory turnover
▫ Public access needs and children being overlooked

America's Attik's Toy Box and Annual Toy Drive have evolved into an event called Empower Kids at the Holidays. In 2006, approximately 500 children will earn the right to come to the event and shop for everyone in their family.  Moms and Dads will stay outside while volunteers walk the children through a huge array of items. The children will select a gift for everyone on their list. The children then help wrap the items.  On their way back to mom and dad, each child will enjoy their own gifts and treats.
